For more than a quarter of a century, the Gulf Coast Community Choir (GCCC) has been a joyful expression of unity through song. Founded on the belief that music has the power to heal, inspire, and connect, our choir brings together passionate singers from across the region who share one common goal, to use their voices for good. Each season, our members come together to rehearse, learn, and share in the joy of music. Our repertoire spans gospel, classical, and contemporary works, offering audiences performances that both uplift and unite. Beyond the music, the heart of our mission remains the same, to make a difference through harmony.
“Music is a tremendous force for bringing people together,” said the late Dr. S. Caroll Buchanan, GCCC Founder and Director. Working closely alongside Dr. Buchanan as GCCC vice president and business manager was his wife, the late Carol Buchanan. She was described as the “voice” of the choir and played a key role in keeping the choir going after Dr. S. Caroll Buchanan’s passing in 2010.
GCCC has held more than 30 annual fundraising concerts that benefit local community organizations. They perform free concerts in a variety of settings, including community retirement homes, senior community centers, nursing homes, faith organizations and other venues.
